How To Easily Transfer Crypto From Binance To Coinbase (Step By Step Guide)
Transferring crypto across wallets or exchanges is usually an easy process and when done correctly, the assets transferred should be available on your wallet/exchange account after a seconds and in some cases, a few minutes.
This is also the same when transferring crypto from exchanges like Binance to Coinbase. You first need to get the correct wallet address of the crypto asset you want to transfer (from your Coinbase account) then head over to Binance then select the coin/token to be transferred, enter an amount and hit Withdraw.
For this tutorial, we will be showing you how to transfer Bitcoin (BTC) from Binance to Coinbase since it is the most popular cryptocurrency out there but this method will also work for transferring just about any other cryptocurrency including coins like ETH, Chainlink (LINK), and more from Binance to your Coinbase account.
Below is a step-by-step guide on how you can transfer crypto from Binance to Coinbase.
Step 1: Launch the Coinbase app and tap on [Recieve].
Launch the Coinbase app on your mobile device and tap on [Recieve] to get your Coinbase wallet address for the asset you want to transfer.
If you use the web version of Coinbase (coinbase.com), click on [Send/Recieve] on the top right corner of the page and navigate to the “Recieve” tab on the dialog shown.
Step 2: On the Recieve page, click on [Copy] to copy your wallet address.
Next, click on [Copy] to copy your Coinbase wallet address.
The default asset is Bitcoin and if you are transferring any of the other cryptocurrencies supported by Coinbase, you need to get the correct wallet address for the said crypto asset.
For example, if want to transfer ETH into your Coinbase account from Binance, you need to use your Coinbase Ethereum wallet address and not the Bitcoin address.
To get your ETH wallet address, just tap on the default asset (which is Bitcoin) and type “ETH” into the search bar. On the search result, tap on ETH and then tap on [Copy] to copy your Coinbase ETH wallet address.
This method will also work in getting your wallet address for any of the other crypto assets supported by Coinbase. Since blockchain transactions are irreversible, sending crypto to the wrong address will result in a loss of funds.
Step 3: Launch the Binance mobile app on select [Wallets].
Now that you have the correct wallet address of the asset you would be transferring, head over to the Binance app on your device and tap on [Wallets].
Step 4: Select [Funding] and tap on [Withdraw].
Open your Funding wallet by tapping on [Funding] from the list of available wallets.
Next, select [Withdraw] and search for the asset you want to transfer in the “crypto” section.
Step 5: Search and select the crypto to be transferred.
Now, search for the crypto asset you want to transfer using the search bar. Since we will be transferring BTC for the purpose of this guide, we’re searching for BTC as you can see in the screenshot below.
If you intend to transfer any other crypto, type it into the search bar and select the correct one from the search results.
Step 6: Tap on [Send via Crypto Network].
Since you will be sending crypto from Binance to another crypto exchange (Coinbase in this case), select [Send via Crypto] to send via an external crypto blockchain. Sending via Email, Phone or ID only works for crypto transactions between two Binance users/accounts.
Step 7: Paste your Coinbase wallet address and enter the amount to be transferred.
Next, paste in the correct wallet address you copied earlier from the Coinbase app in the correct field and Binance should automatically select the correct network for the transaction from the wallet address pasted.
Note:- Do not change the network selected automatically by Binance or you may lose your funds if the transaction uses the incorrect network.
Also, cross-check and re-crosscheck your wallet address before moving to the next step. If you transfer crypto to the wrong wallet address, you will lose all the funds associated with the transaction since crypto transactions are irreversible.
After this, input the amount of the asset you want to transfer and select [Withdraw].
Step 8: Tap on [Submit] and complete the 2-step verification to approve the transfer.
Finally, tap on [Submit] and complete the 2-step verification by providing the code sent to your phone number, email, and/or authenticator app (Google or Binance authenticator).
Once the 2-step verification has been completed successfully, the crypto you transferred should be en route to the wallet address provided.
Depending on the currency network conditions of the blockchain the asset you transferred uses, it could take anywhere from a few seconds to minutes for the funds to show up on your Coinbase account.
