Just like you need your bank account number to receive fiat payments on your bank account, your wallet address (or public key) is required to receive payments over the blockchain.
A wallet address is a sequence of numbers and letters that is used to receive and make payments on any blockchain.
If you want to receive crypto on your Coinbase account, you need to get the correct wallet address of the coin/token from Coinbase.
While finding the correct wallet address might seem easy for older Coinbase users, many new users might find the process quite challenging since they’re new to the exchange and cryptocurrencies in general.
In this article, you will learn how to find your wallet address on Coinbase. It will include a guide on how to find the wallet address of various cryptocurrencies (including BTC, ETH, and more) on the Coinbase website and mobile app for both Android and iOS devices.
How To Find Your Coinbase Wallet Address

How To Find Your Wallet Address On Coinbase (Guide With Screenshots)
To receive any cryptocurrency on your Coinbase account, you first need to get the wallet address of the cryptocurrency you intend to receive from your Coinbase account.
For example, if you want to receive Bitcoin (BTC) on your Coinbase account from another exchange or crypto wallet, you will need to copy your Coinbase BTC wallet address and transfer the correct amount of BTC to that wallet address.
To find your wallet address on Coinbase, you need to be signed into your account.
Once you have signed into your account, click on the Send/Recieve on the Coinbase dashboard, navigate to the Recieve tab then select the asset you intend to receive on your account, and click on the Copy icon to copy the wallet address.
Note: You can only get the wallet addresses of cryptocurrencies listed on the Coinbase exchange on your Coinbase account.
Below is a step-by-step guide (with screenshots) showing how you can find your wallet address on the Coinbase exchange.
Step 1: Open the Coinbase website and sign into your account.
Open the Coinbase Sign-in page on a web browser on your device and enter your email address and account password.
Complete the 2-step verification process by inputting the 7-digit code which was sent to your Coinbase phone number via SMS.
Have trouble accessing your account? You can simply change your Coinbase account password and then log in using the new password.
Step 2: Click on [Send/Recieve] on the Coinbase dashboard.
After signing into your account, you should be redirected to the main dashboard on the Coinbase Exchange website.
Click on the [Send/Recieve] button which can be found on the top right corner of the page (refer to the screenshot below).
After clicking on the button, you should see a dialog. Click on [Recieve] to navigate to the Recieve section on the dialog.
Step 4: Select the cryptocurrency/asset to be received on your account.
Now, you need to select the cryptocurrency you want to receive on your Coinbase account.
By default, the selected cryptocurrency you should see is Bitcoin (BTC). If you want to transfer BTC to your Coinbase account or receive BTC from someone else, you don’t need to do anything else.
If you intend to receive another cryptocurrency that is not BTC, you will need to select it on this dialog.
To do that, click on the area which reads “Bitcoin > BTC Wallet”.
Next, search for the coin/token you want to receive by typing it in the search bar then select the correct option in the search results.
For example, if you want to receive Ethereum (ETH) on your Coinbase account, type “ETH” into the search bar as your search term then select the correct option – “Ethereum ETH” – from the search results.
This applies to every other crypto you want to receive on your Coinbase account.
If you couldn’t find the cryptocurrency in the search results after typing in the name of the coin in the search bar, then the coin/token is probably not listed on Coinbase and you cannot receive it on your Coinbase account.
In some cases, Coinbase might ask you to confirm that you’re receiving crypto from the right network, click on [Got It] to close the warning.
Step 5: Click on the Copy icon to copy your wallet address.
Finally, click on the Copy icon to copy your Coinbase wallet address for the selected cryptocurrency.
With this, you have successfully located your Coinbase wallet address.
Take note of the networks supported by the wallet address provided by Coinbase. Sending crypto via an unsupported network to your Coinbase wallet address will result in a permanent loss of funds.
For example, you can only transfer Ethereum (ETH) to your Coinbase ETH wallet address using the Ethereum Network. If you transfer ETH using (or from) another network eg Polygon or Binance Smart Chain (BEP20), the funds you transferred will be permanently lost!
If you want to receive ETH (WETH) on your Coinbase account using the Polygon network, ensure you change the network to “Polygon” before copying your Coinbase ETH (WETH) wallet address.
To do this, click on “Ethereum >” in the Network section.
Select Polygon on the Change Network dialog then hit [I Understand] to close the warning.
For Bitcoin, you can only transfer BTC via the native Bitcoin network and not other networks like the Bitcoin Lighting Network, BSC, or Ethereum.
Take note of these because there is nothing the Coinbase support team can do to retrieve your funds if you transfer crypto to your Coinbase wallet address using the wrong network. That’s how the blockchain works!
We generally recommend sending a little bit of crypto to your wallet address first before sending the rest. This will help confirm if you’re truly doing the right thing while keeping you safe from permanently losing a large portion of your funds if you make a mistake.
How To Find Your Wallet Address On The Coinbase Mobile App (Android & iPhone)
If you use Coinbase only via the mobile app on either Android or iPhone, the process of finding your wallet address is quite different although quite similar.
Here is how you can find your wallet address on the Coinbase mobile app.
Step 1: Open the Coinbase app and tap [Recieve].
Launch the Coinbase mobile app on your Android smartphone or iPhone.
On the Coinbase app home screen, tap the [Recieve] button from the horizontal list of quick action buttons.
Step 2: Select the asset you want to receive.
By default, Bitcoin (BTC) is the selected asset on the Coinbase Recieve page on the Coinbase mobile app.
If you intend to receive Bitcoin (BTC) on your Coinbase account, you can move to the next step since no further actions are required to get your BTC wallet address.
If you want to receive another cryptocurrency, you will need to select the said cryptocurrency to get the correct address.
To do this, click on the currently selected asset which is “Bitcoin”.
Next, search for the cryptocurrency by typing in the name or ticker symbol in the search bar, then select the correct option from the search results.
If Coinbase supports multiple networks for the cryptocurrency you selected (e.g ETH), you should be able to pick the network you intend to use for transaction in the Network section after selecting the coin from the search results.
Step 3: Tap [Copy] to copy your wallet address.
Finally, tap on the [Copy] button to copy your Coinbase wallet address for the selected cryptocurrency.
While there is nothing wrong with sharing your Coinbase wallet address publicly, we generally do not recommend our readers to share their wallet addresses publicly especially if you regularly receive and transfer crypto on your Coinbase account.
This is because all crypto transactions on the blockchain are public and anyone with a wallet address can see all the transactions made on the wallet by the owner.
Anyone with your Coinbase wallet address can view all the transactions made on your Coinbase account including all the available funds on the wallet.
You generally do not want this especially if you’re quite popular online since it attracts the attention of people with malicious intent.
Several Coinbase users have been victims of SIM swap fraud after being targeted by hackers and scammers.
